Fiers becomes a free agent, free to sign with other Major League clubs.
The Astros now have eight arbitration eligible players remaining on their 40-man roster in catcher Evan Gattis, right-handed pitcher Ken Giles, left-handed pitcher Dallas Keuchel, outfielder Jake Marisnick, right-handed pitcher Lance McCullers Jr., right-handed pitcher Collin McHugh, right-handed pitcher Brad Peacock and outfielder George Springer.
With the removal of Fiers, the Astros 40-man roster now stands at 38 players.
