Astros Bullpen Gives Yankees 6-4 Comeback Win; ALCS Tied at 2

With the Houston offense struggling in New York, pitcher Lance McCullers gave one of his best performances of the year, and his best outing since June, pitching 6+ innings, allowing one run off just two hits with three strikeouts. Unfortunately, the bullpen was not as sharp.

Devenski, Musgrove & Giles would allow the Yankees to score five runs in the seventh & eighth innings, and Yankee Stadium exploded with excitement as New York rallied for a 6-4 comeback victory.

"Today we got punched in the mouth," said Alex Bregman, following the game. "Tomorrow is a brand new day. We're going to get some sleep, come to the field, go through our same routine that we've gone through all year, and get ready to go."

The Astros bats were quiet for a second straight night, before they were able to load the bases with nobody out in the 6th, thanks to two walks and a catcher interference. First baseman Yuli Gurriel would deliver a double to deep left to clear the bases to give Houston a 3-0 lead. Marwin Gonzalez would score in the 7th off a Yankees error to make it 4-0. But that would be all the scoring Houston would get in this one.

"We've got to figure out ways to come up with better at-bats in order for us to score more runs," said Carlos Correa after the game. "Confidence level is always high. We trust in the group of talented players we have in this clubhouse."

With the ALCS tied 2-2, Game 5 is set for 4:08p on Wednesday. Listen to all of the action on your home for Astros baseball, SportsTalk790!
