The Houston Astros' hot streak came to an end on Tuesday night, letting a 7-1 lead over the Royals slip away, and lost 9-7 on a walkoff two-run homerun by Mike Moustakas.
Houston fell to 42-17 on the season, but still maintain a 13-game lead in the AL West.
The Astros scored three in the 3rd off an Altuve sac fly, and a two-run RBI-single from Yuli Gurriel. They added four more runs in the fourth off an RBI-double by Josh Reddick, a Correa RBI-single, and a two-run homerun from Beltran.
David Paulino, making another spot start for the ailing Joe Musgrove, pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing three runs off eight hits with four strikeouts.
Trailing 7-4 in the bottom of the 8th, the Royals tied it up on Whit Merrifield's bases clearing double to make it 7-7. In the bottom of the 8th with two outs, Salvador Perez hit a single off the shift, before Moustakas delivered the walkoff blow off Astros' reliever Ken Giles.
Unfortunately, I have no choice but to flip the script for once. Mike Moustakas walk-off 😕 pic.twitter.com/gjdHoLAm1n— Dustin Nguyen (@itsdtrain) June 7, 2017
