Source: Texans agree to Sign Ravens LB Del’Shawn Phillips on one-year deal

HOUSTON – The Texans have agreed to terms with former Baltimore Ravens linebacker and special-teams core contributor Del’Shawn Phillips on a one-year contract, per a league source.

Phillips is a 6-foot-2, 230-pound former Illinois player who played in 17 games with one start last season for the AFC North champions, recording 24 tackles. He played 79 percent of the special teams snaps last season for the Ravens and seven percent of the defensive snaps.

He has played in 52 career games with two starts, including stints with the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets. He has 60 career tackles, three for losses, one sack and two fumble recoveries.
