Astros Bring Back Jon Singleton

Prior to tonight’s game, the Astros signed IF Jon Singleton to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple A Sugar Land. Singleton, 31, was regarded as one of the top infield prospects in baseball while with the Astros organization from 2011-17 after being acquired in a trade with the Phillies. He played in 114 games at the Major League level with the Astros from 2014-15. Singleton appeared in 11 games with the Brewers this season but has spent the majority of the season with Triple A Nashville, prior to being DFA’d and electing free agency on June 21. Through 1,064 minor league games, Singleton has hit .252 (929x3692) with 169 home runs, 645 RBI and an .828 OPS.
