Astros Use Long Ball to Beat Yankees 8-3, Take 3-1 ALCS Lead

The Astros used a pair of three-run home runs from George Springer and Carlos Correa to beat the Yankees Thursday night, 8-3. With the win, Houston is now up 3-1 in the ALCS and one win away from a World Series berth.

Zack Greinke battled through 4.1 innings, allowing an early run in the 1st inning. After walking in a run, Greinke got a huge strikeout to end the Yankees threat. Ryan Pressly came in the game in the 5th inning and struck out two to leave the bases loaded. Pressly earned the win after getting the Astros out of a jam. Between Greinke, Pressly, Josh James, Will Harris, Joe Smith and Roberto Osuna, the staff struck out 13 Yankee hitters.

Michael Brantley had two hits and an RBI to go along with the homers from Springer and Correa. The Yankees had four errors in the game which allowed a run to come in late in the game.

Justin Verlander will start Friday night in game 5 against New York's James Paxton.
