Miley and Reddick Push Astros Past Arlington, 4-2

As the rain poured down on Minute Maid Park Thursday night, Josh Reddick robbed what would have been a three run jack by Hunter Pence to preserve a 4-2 win for the Astros.

Reddick hit an RBI single that broke a 2-2 tie in the bottom of the sixth followed by a bases loaded pinch-hit walk by Michael Brantley in the 8th. That would be the difference in the game for Houston. George Springer hit a solo-blast in the 3rd to get the Astros on the board first. Alex Bregman would then hit a sac-fly in the 5th to tie the game at two which led to Reddick's AB.

Wade Miley had a solid outing on the mound for Houston tossing 6.0 IP, allowing two earned runs on just two hits. He struck out seven and walked two. Miley improves to 3-2 on the season. Ryan Pressly continued his dominance with a perfect 8th inning. Roberto Osuna recorded his 9th save of the season while striking out two.

Justin Verlander will start for the ninth time this season in game two of the series, looking for his sixth win of the season.

The Astros improve to 23-15 on the year and will continue their series against the Rangers Friday night at 7:10pm.
