Dawn Mountain Center for Tibetan Buddhism will host a two-day symposium on the art of modern spirituality amid chaos at Rice University. Co-sponsored by the Rice Department of Religion and the Chao Center for Asian Studies, "Beyond Hard Knocks: Creative Buddhist Voices on Learning from Experience" will feature a number of expert speakers, kicking off with a reception at 6:30 p.m. Fri., Sept. 15, in the university's Martell Hall.
