DeMeco Ryans Responds to JJ Watt Saying He'll Come Back if They Need Him

Over the weekend, JJ Watt made headlines at his charity softball game in Houston, when he was asked if we would come out of retirement to play for the Texans since they appear to be poised to make a run for a Super Bowl.

Watt said he is willing and available to return to the Texans, and said he told DeMeco Ryans, "Don't call unless you absolutely need it, but if you ever do call, I'll be there."

Watt is 35 years old and said he's still training and in good shape.

On Monday, DeMeco Ryans responded to Watt's comments while at the Texans golf charity event.

"I love to hear JJ saying he's ready, I've got his number ready to go, just in case we need it," Ryans said while chuckling. "I may need to make that call."

The Texans appear to be set at pass rusher with Defensive Rookie of the Year Will Anderson on one side, and perennial Pro Bowler Danielle Hunter on the other, with Derek Barnett, Denico Autry and others in the fold.

However, if an injury were to happen to Hunter or Anderson, one has to wonder if Ryans would opt to make that call to Watt.
