The Texans cut former Tennessee Titans and Stanford quarterback Kevin Hogan, according to a league source.
Hogan is a former Kansas City Chiefs fifth-round draft pick who has also played for the Cleveland Browns, Washington franchise, Denver Broncos, Bengals and Titans.
He was cut by the Titans after they drafted Liberty quarterback Malik Willis.
He has passed for 621 yards, four touchdowns and seven interceptions and rushed for 176 yards and one score. He has played in eight games, starting one, all for the Browns.
At Stanford, he passed for 9,385 yards, 75 touchdowns and rushed for a school-record 15 touchdowns. His career passing efficiency mark of 154.6 ranks second behind Andrew Luck.
The Texans activated rookie tight end Teagan Quitoriano from the active-physically unable to perform list. He had a foot injury.
The former Oregon State tight end was drafted by the Texans in the fifth round with the 170th overall pick.
Quitoriano played four seasons with the Beavers, catching 40 passes for 512 yards and six touchdowns.
