Rockets Advance to Western Conference Semis With Game 5 Win Over Jazz

The Rockets knocked the Utah Jazz out of the postseason Wednesday night with a 100-93 victory in game five. Houston wins the series 4 games to 1.

James Harden led the way with 26 points, six rebounds and six assists. Clint Capela bounced back for a solid game and a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds. Chris Paul and Eric Gordon each had 15 points.

Houston did not shoot the ball as well as they wanted but played solid defense again to help in the victory. As a team, the Rockets had 12 blocks and 12 steals. With those blocks and steals, it was the first time where the squad had double figures in both categories since game five of the 1994 Western Conference finals. They forced 15 turnovers and held the Jazz to 24% shooting from beyond the arc. Houston also held Donovan Mitchell to only 12 points as he missed all nine of the three point attempts he took.

Up next will be the Western Conference semi-finals against either the Golden State Warriors or the LA Clippers.
